Archival history

Immediate source of acquisition or transfer

In 1985-1986, the Byzantine Photograph and Fieldwork Archives initiated a project to duplicate the Kurt Weitzmann photographic archive housed in the Department of Art and Archaeology at Princeton University, with Weitzmann's permission. The project was completed in 1990-1991 with grant funds provided by the J. Paul Getty Trust. Copy negatives were produced from the original negatives at Princeton.
