Daughter of archaeologist Karel Škorpil. Her father's materials had been held at the Byzantine Institute Library and some were returned to her in Varna, Bulgaria, in 1963. The rest were found in 1967 and shipped to her in Prague in 1968, received by her daughter, Marie Hermova.
